Mud Face Distortion Unit

Guitar distortion effects nonlinearly transform the sound wave to generate higher harmonics and intermodulation products.

The Mud Face distortion unit is special in that it is implemented internal to the Guitar, which is why it must always be positioned immediately next to the Guitar in the Effects Chain.

When Hexaphonic Strings are enabled (Guitar "Choir Mode"), a separate Mud Face distortion unit is instantiated for each string, thereby minimizing intermodulation distortion.

The Mud Face is the least-expensive distortion unit in GeoShred because it does not simulate a pre-existing analog circuit. It is instead implemented using simple nonlinear math that captures the essential features of classic distortion units.
