Variances

Variances are random modulations applied automatically over time. They can be used to obtain natural-sounding subtle variations of performance parameters from note to note, or to obtain crazy whacked-out sonic freak-outs.

For any parameter not in this select group of eight, essentially the same effect can be had by preparing a randomized Key Step curve for that parameter (look for "Key Step" in the upper-right corner after selecting Main Menu > Control Surface).
